4California to delay MTBE phase out
According to petroleum industry sources, California Governor Gray Davis will most likely postpone banning the controversial gasoline additive MTBE from the state's fuel supply by one or two years.
The move will be Davis's formal response to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) decision in June that essentially requires the state to start blending corn-based ethanol, instead of MTBE, into its gasoline. (Reuters)
