4California to delay MTBE phase out |
| |
According to petroleum industry sources, California Governor Gray Davis will most likely postpone banning the controversial gasoline additive MTBE from the state's fuel supply by one or two years. |
| |
The move will be Davis's formal response to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) decision in June that essentially requires the state to start blending corn-based ethanol, instead of MTBE, into its gasoline. (Reuters)
