What is EFOA

EFOA, the European Fuel Oxygenates Association, was founded in 1985 by European producers of MTBE, the most widely used fuel oxygenate.

EFOA comprises companies having their own production of fuel oxygenates in at least one Western European country. It is open to associate members having an interest in the production or the use of fuel oxygenates.

Current member companies of EFOA are:  Ecofuel, Evonik Oxeno, Hellenic Petroleum, LyondellBasell Industries, Neste Oil, Polski Koncern Naftowy, RepsolYPF, Sabic Europe, Saras and Total. Together, EFOA members represent about 80 % of the EU fuel ether production capacity.

EFOA is a sector group of Cefic, the European Chemical Industry Council.
